Accuracy and review

Fact-Checking Policy

HireFly uses proportionate checks to improve factual accuracy while reminding readers that employment details can change without notice.

Our approach

Fact-checking begins with the purpose of a page and the importance of each claim. A deadline, qualification or application link can directly affect a candidate, so those details deserve particular care. Broader career articles are reviewed for clear support, suitable context and whether time-sensitive information needs an update.

No checking process can guarantee that every public source is complete or that information will remain unchanged. HireFly aims to make reasonable, documented judgements and correct identified errors rather than claim perfect accuracy.

Who performs the checks

HireFly's co-owners, Hariprasad C and Aswathi A V, are responsible for reviewing published articles and informational resources. Hariprasad leads review of HR and employment-related content, while Aswathi contributes to research methodology, source organisation and page structure. AI tools may assist with research organisation or technical checks, but they are not accepted as evidence and do not replace review by the owners.

Checks used for job information

  • Reviewing official employer career pages and public recruitment notices where available.
  • Checking that application links appear relevant to the named role or employer.
  • Comparing multiple public sources when a detail is unclear or inconsistent.
  • Checking publication dates and closing dates for obvious conflicts or expiry.
  • Reviewing job titles, locations, qualifications and experience requirements.
  • Checking whether application directions are understandable and internally consistent.
  • Correcting formatting errors that could change or obscure meaning.

Source priority

The preferred order depends on the claim: (1) the relevant government law, notification, regulator or other primary authority; (2) the employer's official career page or recruitment notice for a vacancy; (3) an authoritative institutional source; and (4) a reputable secondary source when primary material is unavailable or needs context. A recent official correction should override an older advertisement or summary.

Consequential claims need stronger support. Examples include statutory gratuity rules, EPF or ESI coverage and rates, income-tax information, employment regulations, government recruitment requirements and numerical claims presented as facts. Appropriate starting points include the Ministry of Labour & Employment, India Code and the Income Tax Department. A link alone is not enough: the cited material must actually support the statement and be current for the relevant date.

Our Sources for Job Information page explains the kinds of material HireFly may reference and how summaries are used.

Links, dates and changing vacancies

Application links are reviewed for relevance when practical, but third-party pages can move, expire or redirect after publication. Closing dates can be extended and employers can pause recruitment without notice. Readers should open the official page immediately before applying and follow the latest instruction shown there.

Employment information changes

The official employer, recruiter or recruitment authority remains the final source for current eligibility, deadlines, salary, qualifications, application procedures and selection decisions.

Comparing public sources

When sources disagree, we consider their authority, date, specificity and relationship to the employer. A recent official correction is generally stronger than an older advertisement. If a conflict cannot be resolved responsibly, the information may be qualified, withheld or removed rather than stated with false certainty.

Articles and changing guidance

Employment regulations, workplace practices and professional standards can change. Articles containing time-sensitive information may be reviewed when a relevant change is identified. Writers should avoid presenting general educational content as individual legal, financial or professional advice.

Where a decision has significant consequences, readers should consult the current official material or a suitably qualified professional. A link to an authoritative source is useful, but it does not remove the need to explain limitations clearly.

Formatting and context checks

Accuracy is more than spelling a name correctly. A misplaced date, missing qualification, ambiguous heading or truncated sentence can change how a reader understands a vacancy. Reviews therefore include formatting, labels, units, lists and whether a summary preserves essential conditions from the source.

Expired, duplicate or suspicious listings

HireFly may remove, update or stop presenting listings that are identified as expired, duplicated, suspicious or materially inaccurate. A duplicate may be consolidated when it refers to the same employer, position and application process. Suspicious activity may lead to additional checks or removal while the available information is assessed.

Removal does not necessarily establish wrongdoing; it may simply reflect insufficient, conflicting or outdated information. The How Jobs Are Verified page provides more detail about reasonable checks and candidate safety.

User-reported errors

Readers, employers and other affected parties can report a factual concern through the contact page. A helpful report identifies the page, the disputed detail and a reliable source showing the correction. Reports are reviewed rather than accepted or rejected solely on the identity of the sender.

If an error is confirmed, the response may include correcting text, replacing a link, updating a date, adding context or removing the page. Minor presentation errors may be fixed directly. A material correction may warrant an explanatory note depending on the circumstances.

What readers should do

  1. Use HireFly to discover and understand an opportunity.
  2. Visit the official employer or recruitment page.
  3. Confirm the current title, location, requirements and deadline.
  4. Verify interview messages and offers through independently found employer channels.
  5. Report a meaningful inconsistency so it can be reviewed.

Continuous improvement

Fact-checking is not a single moment before publication. It includes responding to new evidence, maintaining important pages and learning from errors. HireFly's goal is to provide useful information with appropriate caution, clear sources and a practical correction process.
