What “verified” means on HireFly
Job information can reach HireFly through an authenticated Employer account or be entered from employer career pages, recruitment notices and other publicly available vacancy information. An Employer submission is stored with a pending status and does not become a public job listing unless an administrator approves it. A submission can also be rejected.
Approval is a publication decision, not identity certification or a guarantee from the employer. The project does not contain an automated connection that confirms every vacancy directly with every named company. Review depth can vary according to the source and information available, so HireFly distinguishes a reviewed listing from guaranteed authenticity.
What a review may consider
- Whether the named employer or recruiting organisation has a relevant public presence.
- Whether the job title, location, experience, qualifications and description are internally consistent.
- Whether an application URL or company website appears relevant to the stated organisation or role.
- Whether supplied contact information and application directions match the vacancy.
- Whether a listing appears incomplete, misleading, duplicated, expired or suspicious.
- Whether the vacancy contains requests for payment, guaranteed-selection claims or other warning signs.
Not every listing contains every source or field needed for all of these checks. The checks improve the information available for publication; they cannot prove that every later message, interviewer or offer is genuine. A legitimate organisation's name or branding can be copied by another party.
HireFly does not support employers or recruiters asking candidates to pay recruitment fees, security deposits, training charges, registration fees, interview fees or money for guaranteed employment. Treat such demands as a serious warning sign.
What job seekers should verify
Before applying, open the official application link and confirm the vacancy on the employer's own website whenever possible. Check the sender's email domain, the interviewer's identity, the office location, the role and reporting structure. Independently confirm the offered salary, benefits, working arrangements and employment terms rather than relying only on a message or screenshot.
Read the application process carefully before sharing a résumé or documents. Do not provide banking passwords, one-time passwords, card details or unnecessary identity documents. If identity or education documents are genuinely required, understand who is collecting them, why they are needed and how they will be used. Be cautious when communication moves immediately to an informal messaging account or when you are pressured to act without time to verify.
Reporting suspicious listings
If a listing appears inaccurate, expired or suspicious, contact HireFly through the contact page. Include the job title, employer name, page link and a clear description of the concern. Screenshots can help, but remove sensitive personal information before sending them. Reports are reviewed in context and may lead to a correction, further review or removal of the listing.
A report does not automatically prove misconduct. HireFly may compare the report with public information or ask the publisher for clarification. We aim to act responsibly while avoiding unsupported claims about employers or individuals.
Our limitations
HireFly is an information and job-discovery platform. We are not present in employer interviews, background checks, negotiations or workplace decisions, and we do not control third-party websites. Employers may amend or close vacancies without notifying us. A page that was correct when reviewed can later become outdated, and an external link can change.
Reasonable efforts are made to identify misleading, incomplete, duplicate, expired or suspicious postings, but no screening process can remove every risk. Candidates remain responsible for independently verifying the employer, offer, salary, interview communication and application process before sharing documents, travelling, resigning from a current role or making any other decision.
Expired-job handling
HireFly uses a combination of automated assistance and manual review to identify vacancies that may have expired or need attention. Automation can flag or organise information, but it can miss a changed deadline or incorrectly interpret an external page. The owners remain responsible for decisions to update, retain or remove a listing.
If you find a vacancy that has closed or an application link that no longer works, report the page through the contact form. User reports help address changes that are not detected automatically.
Candidate safety guidance
- Search for the vacancy on the organisation's official careers page.
- Contact the organisation through independently found contact details if anything feels unusual.
- Keep copies of the listing and relevant communication.
- Question unusually high pay, guaranteed selection or an offer made without a meaningful assessment.
- Do not install unknown software or grant remote access to a device for an interview.
- Meet only through credible channels and tell someone you trust about in-person interviews.
- Stop the process if you are pressured to pay, conceal information or share sensitive credentials.
A shared responsibility
Safer recruitment depends on careful publishers, responsible employers and alert candidates. HireFly will continue improving its content checks and responding to useful reports. Job seekers can strengthen that work by checking the latest official information and reporting concerns promptly.
