Salary Hike Calculator

Translate an increment percentage into money before a salary discussion or offer comparison. Choose whether your current figure is monthly or annual.

Calculate your estimate

How this calculation works

The calculator multiplies your current salary by the entered hike percentage, adds that increase to the starting figure, and shows equivalent monthly and annual differences.

Formula used

Hike amount = current salary × hike percentage ÷ 100. Revised salary = current salary + hike amount.

Practical example

A 10% hike on an annual salary of ₹6,00,000 adds ₹60,000 a year, taking the revised salary to ₹6,60,000. The equivalent monthly increase is ₹5,000.

Compare the same salary basis

Before comparing an appraisal or offer, confirm whether both figures refer to annual CTC, annual gross pay or monthly gross pay. A 15% rise in CTC is not necessarily a 15% rise in cash earnings if the new package changes variable pay, employer contributions, insurance or other benefits.

  • Use Annual when entering annual CTC or annual gross salary.
  • Use Monthly when comparing monthly gross figures.
  • Review fixed pay and variable pay separately when comparing offers.

Hike percentage versus money increase

The percentage describes the increase relative to the current salary; the absolute increase is the rupee difference. Two employees receiving the same percentage can receive different rupee increases because their starting salaries differ. This calculator does not estimate tax or payroll deductions.

Important considerations

  • A CTC hike may not equal the same take-home hike.
  • Variable pay and benefit changes are not automatically included.
  • Compare the full salary structure on the same time basis, not only the percentage.

Frequently asked questions

Can I calculate a monthly salary hike?

Yes. Select Monthly and the tool also shows the annualised difference.

Does this calculate tax?

No. It calculates the gross change before deductions.

Can I calculate the hike from old and new salary?

This version accepts a current salary and hike percentage. To verify an offer, divide the increase by the old salary and multiply by 100.
